Rave Reviews
Coco McAtee’s seminars, workshops, and presentations on healthy child sexual development and parenting bring raves from kids, parents and professionals alike:

"I have taken this with my 2 other daughters and I always learn something new. Thanks for helping us with our 3 daughters."Father in Plain Talk about Sex for Kids and Parents

"I sure wish I had had a class like this when I was my son's age. It would have been so helpful." Another Father in Plain Talk about Sex for Kids and Parents

Dear Coco,
I wanted to express to you how much Simon, Zachary and I enjoyed your “Plain Talk” class. The information presented was appropriately geared to the 5-6th grade level and the co-ed format allowed the boys and girls an appreciation of what the other gender experiences in puberty without undue embarrassment.
Your teaching style is professional, matter-of-fact, welcoming and interactive. Zachary felt completely comfortable to ask and answer questions (but the ability to have an anonymous question answered via the question box is a great plus). You made a potentially uncomfortable and awkward topic approachable, understandable, and fun and dispelled misinformation that kids may have heard from less reliable sources.
We found the break-out sessions to discuss with Zachary particular topics useful and very point-of-contact. This helped open the door to conversations regarding sexuality and we anticipate the discussion will continue as he progresses through puberty. The handouts you provided for both parents and kids will be good resources to which to refer.
I feel this curriculum should be mandatory for all families at St. Paul’s. I definitely feel we are equipped to address sexual issues with Zachary and going through the classes as a family allows us to all be “on the same page”.
Thank you so much for this valuable course!

Sincerely, Leslie Abrahms

That is one of the best things I think I ever did for those girls. One of the delightful, and sometimes scary parts of being a parent is watching your child experience many firsts. There is the her first step, her first day at school, the first time she rides a bike and her first period.”

Patty H. (mom of daughter in Coco’s class) “We had her (Coco) talk with our Girl Scout troop as well as their mothers. It was a great conversation starter.”

Renee H. added “It all started with a conversation she (Coco) and I had over coffee while our boys were playing. Best decision I ever made.”

Martha C.K. “Yep! Thank You Coco for making your presentation to R’s troop over 4 years ago.”
Jane M. asked “Coco, do you still do this? I have one more girl I’d love for you to do the presentation for.” (Jane’s other kids had the workshop).

“It is a real gift to be able to engage fully with someone and to make them feel they’re valued, and you did this with each child. You created an environment where kids were comfortable discussing concerns and asking questions – they felt safe and not intimidated by you or by the information… The message you provide is vitally important and can be life-changing, life-saving.” – M. Bell, M.D. (an ER physician and parent participant)

“Thank you for presenting the ‘Puberty and Growing Up’  workshop to Girl Scout troop 1622. As leaders and moms to a diverse group of ten year-olds, we appreciate you opening the door and answering questions about the changes around the corner for all of our daughters. Your humorous delivery grounded with sound medical knowledge were a welcome beginning to this transitional time.” – J. Rose, J. Vaughn, and C. Sans Solorio (Girl Scout Troop Leaders)
